Secretariat once told me, “It really don’t matter about a horse’s color. All that really matters is that a horse has the ‘Running Blood’. I never confirmed if that cowboy’s horse was related to Secretariat, but I think what he said rings true. “Trying hard is not enough...you got to have the Running Blood !” The Desire to Win has to come from somewhere deep inside, and it has to be fierce.
