Seven Years at Sea
Seven Years At Sea
Written By Matt Ellis

Remember when I said lets go and you followed me into the sea
She looked so calm that day against the shore
The harbor sent us up through the heads
We set our course and we drifted north
Waves carried us for days into the storm

I hoped that hope would save us both
and keep us here afloat so far from home
The hardest part of letting go,
Is never letting go in time

On drunken seas through splintered hail
on broken waves, my heart did wail
No turning back, the worst was surely done
We forged ahead and we raised the sails,
We held on to the Dragon's tail
The dawn brought destination to us all

I hoped that hope would save us both
and keep us here afloat so far from home
I know, I know it’s so far to go
But know the waves wont keep you for their own

We weathered the storm and we gave into nature
Neptune he roared and he gave us salvation.
The Ocean she bled when she gave us tomorrow
Nobody said we could beg, steal or borrow.

I hoped that hope would save us both
and keep us here afloat so far from home
The hardest part of letting go, well the hardest part
Is never letting go in time
