The Silas Powell Band, a powerful trio from Doddridge County, WV, features three generations of multi-talented musicians. The band’s namesake, 20-year old Silas Powell, is one of today's most exciting young mandolin prodigies, a fifth generation picker who also shines on fiddle and guitar. Silas, along with his father, Josh Powell (vocals/bass/guitar/mandolin), and his grandpa, Jeff Powell (vocals/guitar/bass /harmonica), deliver a full and exciting sound with rich harmonies and powerful stage presence.

“This album is full of original tunes that truly show the song writing ability of our own Jeff Powell,” says Josh. The elder Powells disbanded their group East Run to focus on the Silas Powell Band. “It also gives you a glimpse at how that ability has been passed on to his grandson Silas Powell. We had most of the songs arranged and ready back in 2019 but do to events out of our control, the project was put on hold until 2021. That turned out in our favor because that is when the Beatles documentary Get Back was released. That documentary turned out to be truly inspiring, and this entire album was recorded live very much in the same way Let It Be was recorded.

“This project is dedicated with loving memory to brother and uncle, Jay Powell. He is sorely missed. His music, however, lives on to comfort us and remind us of wonderful times.”
