Great Big Wall
There’s a great big wall in the distance made out of cement brick
That wall is tall and its wide and its heavy and its hard and it sure is thick
I’m speeding straight for that great big wall humming 90 miles an hour or more

I try to grab the wheel but it just won’t turn,
I try to slam the breaks but it just won’t work
I try to close my eyes but the fear it burns
Begging for mercy good lord it’s something that you can’t ignore

I’m hoping that old bugs bunny, he pulled the wool on over my eyes
Maybe that great big wall it ain’t a wall at all
It’s just a painted curtain dressed in disguise
Behind door number three it’s a mystery but I’m praying it’s a pleasant surprise

I try to grab the wheel but it just won’t turn,
I try to slam the breaks but it just won’t work
I try to close my eyes but the fear it burns
Begging for mercy good lord it’s something that you can’t ignore

And as I prepare for the impact, I ponder the time gone past,
How I’d always considered that the wall was a coming but I never considered I’d crash
Now beggin’ forgiveness from the heavens and I ain’t a clue what’s in store

I try to grab the wheel but it just won’t turn,
I try to slam the breaks but it just won’t work
I try to close my eyes but the fear it burns
Begging for mercy good lord it’s something that you can’t ignore
