Let's Not and Say We Did
Let’s Not and Say We Did
Lucy Billings (Lucy Tunes Music, ASCAP)

When I was a kid I liked to crash my bike and dangle from the swings
But every once in a while I’d want to do some crazy thing
Mamma knew diplomacy
She knew just how to say no to me
She would smile and she would say

Let’s not and say we did
That’s half the fun of being a kid
Sometimes it’s better to pretend
And less trouble in the end

It’s late in the evening, getting kind of steamy
Your hands all over me
I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t tempted
A little voice in my head is warning
How will I feel in the morning?
And it might get weird when I try to end it

So, let’s not and say we did
Like my mamma said when I was a kid
Sometimes it’s better to pretend
And less trouble in the end

As you go through life and you find some things that you don’t want to do
And if there is somebody trying to put the squeeze on you
Just think of my mamma and in your sweetest way
Look them straight in the eye and just say

Let’s not and say we did
Like my mamma said when I was a kid
Sometimes it’s better to pretend
And less trouble in the end
