Until She Makes up Her Mind
I’d like to get myself a haircut and maybe go back to school
Or take out a loan for 25 grand and build a guitar shaped pool
I want to sing in the shower and honk my horn in a tunnel
Someday I will write my auto biography but if that won’t sell
I’ll spice it up with lies and advise my family not to tell
May I go on a cruise now or sleep in a flea bag hotel
My plans are getting cold
May I execute them
Before I get too old
Not until she makes up her mind

I really would like to land a new job like teaching the second grade
Earn a big chunk of self respect instead of being well paid
I’ll ride the school bus with them, and play them songs I’ve written
My plans are getting cold
May I execute them
Before I get too old
Not until she makes up her mind

I’d like to buy a big diamond ring, now close your eyes and guess
Then give it to you and drop to one knee and tell you all I confess
I want to have many children I mailed the invitations
