Patrick (Introduce Yourself)
It was the summer of ’78
Tossed my future to the winds of fate
Joined the military; said San Antone is the place to be
Me and 49 other guys, in bed by 9 and up at 5
Got to know them all well, except for one we couldn’t tell
Something wrong with his head couldn’t tie his shoes or make his bed
We teased him was he hurt we couldn’t tell he was an introvert
He wouldn’t say a damn thing
He was a genius electronics he wasn’t bitter he was recognized
They wanted him in Washington all for themselves
Said Patrick, introduce yourself
Patrick, introduce yourself

You should speak up if you want to get out of this place and go on your way
Even if you must learn to shout I’m sure you don’t want to stay
So I say hey, hey, hey, hey

Patrick, introduce yourself
Patrick, introduce yourself

When will you learn to make your bed and to march without stepping on heels
If you don’t soon we’ll slap your head and then I’m sure we’ll hear you squeal
So I say hey, hey, hey, hey

In time we found him out Patrick was special without a doubt
Sometimes he was a pain but why get mad who could we blame
He knew not what he did now where’d they find this funny kid
Who loved to be alone with circuit boards instead of bones
Always getting caught lost in time deep in thought
GET UP! GET OUT OF BED!
We were blessed I confess an experience I won’t forget
I’ll see you much later

Now I think you will do fine and in life you will go very far
But only if you open up and tell the people who you are
So I say hey, hey, hey, hey
Patrick, introduce yourself
