Biography
In a rare meeting backstage at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, music legend, Prince asked
singer/songwriter, Marko, “Do you believe the cream will rise to the top?”
After Marko responded, “I always do,” Prince continued, “Then you have nothing to worry about.”
When Tri-State Promotions President, Bill Scull (one of the biggest independent radio promoters and CEO of EO-Records) heard Lorenzo, he heard something special. The next day, Scull called
Marko to express his love for the song, “Little Breakdown,” which was recently entered into the ASCAP review session. After Bill got the song aired on Top 40 stations across the country he sent Lorenzo to the studio with Producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne’s, “BLACK RAIN”).
”This is the kind of band every producer dreams of,” Churko stated.
Lorenzo’s maiden voyage cd, “Love Shape Bruise,” subsequently found national release on
EO/SMC/Universal Records.
Love Shape Bruise was tracked at Sunset Sound, Prince’s previous haunting ground for Purple Rain (among others). The Cd’s first single, “Nothin’ Left To Talk About” was mastered by Bob Ludwig and quickly received official adds to radio stations nationally including R&R Rock Station of the year, WEBN (Cincinnati). Currently, the band is a Top 5 Artist on the nationally syndicated rock radio program, Undiscovered Radio Network (.com).
The band’s catalog of accomplishments include – winning the Popular vote for “Best Rock CD” at the worldwide Independent Music Awards (Musician’s Atlas) after being named Finalists for “Best Rock CD;” having their songs aired on CBS’s “Shark” and “Threshold;” being named one of six finalists in the Billboard/Diskmakers IMWS awards; becoming the first unsigned band to ever play the 20,500 seat Riverbend Music Center and co-headlining the Labor Day Fireworks show for over 50,000 in Cincinnati. It is estimated that in the band’s first twenty-one shows, they have played for over
200,000 people.
Only moments into Lorenzo’s Love Shape Bruise, the listener is hit right between the eyes with award-winning song writing, unrelenting, hard-hitting rock and high-calibre musicianship the likes
of which we haven’t heard in a generation.
Others are also finding Lorenzo; Parker Guitars, Dean Markley Strings, Basson Amplification, Eden Bass Amplifiers, Lakland Basses and Male Dog Clothing are proud members of the Lorenzo Sponsorship Team.
With the recent additions of one of the most sought-after guitarists in the industry,
Curtis Fairchild, and drummer-extraordinairre, Rob Bell, the “Wow-Factor” of the band has increased exponentially and quietly is growing to a mammoth proportion. It will be no surprise to anyone familiar with Lorenzo that they are poised to introduce the newest and most cutting-edge line of rock ‘n’ roll super-heroes.
Indeed, the creme is rising to the top.
