All I've ever known is that little black cloud hanging over my head
Sitting on my pity throne I've gone through life less alive than dead
But there's comfort in despair so I'm the most content person there could ever be
Though I act like I don't care
Something's come quite clear to me

I'm SHOCKINGLY HAPPY
thriving on my misery

I can't help but smile when I'm feeling this way
and this pit that I'm in gets deeper each day

There was a time when I'd fight to pull myself out of this hole
Such a weak little mind ruled by the fear of being out of control
So when I find myself slipping back into waging this war I can never win
I remind myself, "I'm better than that!"
and then I thoroughly enjoy giving in
