Biography
On one cold summer night of 2009, Lindley Ruth encountered her soon-to-be band mates stumbling up the back streets of downtown Nashville. Lost at 2am, and too inebriated to care, they found an angel in Lindley: with the tenacity—and the balls—to give three dirty strangers a ride. Immediately united over the sounds of John Denver pouring out of her red 1992 Ford Mustang; a bond was formed and the rest is history.

Raised in the bitter motherland of St. Paul, Minnesota, Lindley’s indoctrination to the masters of Country and Folk music began with her mother’s record collection. Her appetite unceasing, she picked up the guitar and wrote her first song in the sixth grade called “Does He Like Me?”… He didn’t. Never discouraged, Lindley continued hunting men and writing songs all the way to the heart of it all: Nashville, Tennessee.

Pursuing a degree in songwriting at Belmont University, Lindley Ruth quickly made an impression on Belmont and the Nashville community at large. In 2009, she won an ASCAP Writers Night and played Belmont’s “Best of the Best” artist showcase. She’s performed everywhere in and out of Nashville, from the Bluebird Café to Bongo Java, and her international audience has only grown with time. Lindley Ruth and her Tipsy String Band are currently in production of their first full-length record, all while attending school full time and playing out as much as possible. Lindley has big plans for the future, and they start right now.
