Just Us Lillys - Peg and Awl

This folk song from early industrial England was first recorded in 1925 by Kelly Harrell. In 1952 it was included in Harry Smith’s renowned Anthology of American Folk Music. Bruce Molsky’s 2000 recording caught the attention of Mason and Georgia, who brought it to the band for consideration. This was one of the final tracks to be completed. Our experimentation to give it that “big sound” lasted well into the recording process.
