Granny Brisco was a midwife in Newton County who rode on horseback to deliver babies in a career spanning more than sixty years. I’ve met many of her descendants and also a few people who were delivered by her. If you mention her to her descendants, they light up with pride. Late in her life, people began to come to her birthday parties to show their gratitude and celebrate her.
