Biography
Alex Wilson's music is unique with a combination style of R&B, Hard Salsa, Soulful lyrics and mixed with Afro-Cuban beat. Many of his music are playing in dance clubs both American and Latin. Although his music is unique in R&B and Salsa style, Alex Wilson records incredible cover versions in the Salsa Genre.

Alex Wilson is an award winning pianist, regularly performing with Courtney Pine and playing to sell out crowds with his own salsa orchestra recently at Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho and headlining the Bristol Harbour Festival. The premiere of an exciting new project by Alex and co-led by veteran Jamaican drummer Kenrick Rowe (Janet Kay, Jazz Jamaica) which draws on Kenrick's vast experience of recording and performing Jamaican music and feeds into Alex's formidable arranging and band-leading skills - gleaned from 5 solo albums and worldwide touring in over 50 countries. Expect a six piece band, high energy vocals, driving grooves and powerful arrangements - think contemporary gospel meets Kingston, Jamaica with some latin fireworks thrown in!

In 2007, Wilson released his 5th album, Inglaterra. This was his first to feature the fire water of salsa dura neat and amounted to a declaration of war on the dance floor. Tracks like Show Me and a salsafied version of Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody appeared on 10 compilations and are still burning up dance floors in salsa clubs across the globe. Salsa con Soul continues the assault, only this time the fires of soul and gospel bring a softer, more romantic vibe to balance the muscular, urgent yang drive of Cuban timba and salsa dura.
