Biography
Born in Osaka, Japan to an Air Force family, LadyBoss-Amanishakhete spent most of her childhood and early adult years in the Pacific Northwest but traveled the country and lived in Great Britain.
Now Boss is a Word-Soul lyricist who writes and co-writes her songs. Her music is original and composed by hip hop artist and producer Anuff. Her crew for performances consists of local but professional vocalists, dancers, actors and hip hop artists from the Portland area.
Boss is not just an entertainer. When she performs live, she engages her audience, seeking to touch and empower their souls. Boss has been known to ask women to join her on stage to show off their sexy by dancing along with her to her song “Still Sexy.” She wrote the song in honor of women over age 40.
LadyBoss added the stage persona Amanishakhete, a name that is synonymous with the Nubian Queen Amanishakheto—which means motherhood of beauty and love—who ruled Nubia from 10 BC to 1 AD. Queen Amanishakheto was known as a great warrior and woman of great wealth.
LadyBoss, who sees herself as a warrior for humanity, recently redefined the term Boss (for herself) to mean ruler of oneself rather than the traditional since such as: a Boss who rules over others in the working world.
In that regard, LadyBoss-Amanishakhete defines her name to mean “ruler of oneself through beauty and love.” Such is the mission of LadyBoss LLC which is to “Inspire humanity through the heart and soul of a woman.”
