You swing, I swing like a pendulum • Back and forth and then again • Swing, over deep water

Now your heart, your heart beats loud and clear Open wide, but I’m still scared • And that feels a bit too familiar

I watch you fly and fall, so vulnerable • Hoping your open heart will spread like wings and see you safe to me

You smile, I smile contagious grins • Back and forth and then again • Smile, your courage is spreading

To my heart, to my heart with its thick, thick skin • I feel safe enough to fall apart and let you in • Yeah, I could let you in

And, I could fly and fall, so vulnerable • Then would my open heart spread like wings and see me safe to fly or fall, so vulnerable • Is that what an open heart spreads its wings for?
