2. THE MAN SAID NO
The plague came down, like a real heavy blow.
All my work got tossed out, and there was nowhere to go.
Had to get a job fast, and find me some dough.
Every place I went, the man said no.

I went to the supermarket, but I was too slow.
And I wasn't fit enough, to be shovelling snow.
Well the bubbles had all burst, up at No-one & Co.
They were the worst in town, but the man said no.

The man said no, He said it every time.
When I’m in the queue, I’m always last in line.
Can’t even give myself, away for free.
I’m just trying to be, the best version of me.
But the man said no.

I stomped through the sun, pleading I could glow.
I walked through the rain, but they said you don't flow.
Well I explored every corner, but it was no show.
Knocked on every door, but the man said no.
