"Blue Ain't the Word" is a good traditional heartbreak number and is the first time fiddler Mary Rachel Norris has penned a song for the band. In addition to writing the song, "Blue Ain't the Word," is the first single release from the band that features Mary Rachel out in front as lead vocalist. “You know those light naps you doze into when you're traveling?" offers Nalley-Norris. "Well, this song came to me while trying to fade into my slumber! We were headed to a show and all of a sudden this melody was just there. I had been humming the words, ‘Blue, Blue, Blue, Ain't the Word’ for a couple days but couldn’t find a melody that fit quite right. I woke up, grabbed the first instrument I came to and wrote the chorus; within a couple days Kody and I had finished the verses! I can’t believe the first song I had a hand in writing made the cut for the CD and now is going to be our second single off that forthcoming album! I'm truly blessed and hope you all enjoy ‘Blue Ain’t the Word.’”
