7. Ghost of My Father
This was one of the first songs that came to me directly after my dad’s death. I couldn’t have prepared for how disoriented I was by losing him. Where had he gone? Where was I supposed to put the love I still had for him? What was the point of it all? It felt that dementia had made it impossible for him to conceive of his own mortality and make peace with it or say his goodbyes. Perhaps this album is my way of doing that work for him.
