Evangeline
Evangeline
Written by Karen Morand and Gina Horswood March 2019

All the gurus say “Love yourself and love will come your way”
Every preacher testifies I’ll find God if I open up my eyes.
And I gotta believe love for me and my Maker
Won’t take forever
Evangeline

A stranger once said to me “You’ll get tired of being angry”
Most of those I know promise me, one day I’ll let you go
And I gotta believe the grip of this anger
Won’t be the death of me
Evangeline

There will come a day
I’ll rest high upon high
This drought will break and we’ll be washed under a merciful sky
Ya we’ll be washed under a merciful sky
Evangeline

Solidify my bones
Frail as ash there’s nothing left of me
How do I attone
When I am unravelling
And I gotta believe, ya I gotta believe
And I gotta believe, ya I gotta believe

There will come a day
I’ll rest high upon high
This drought will break and we’ll be washed under a merciful sky
And the river will carry our worries to the sea
It’s rolling on for you and it’s rolling on for me
And I gotta believe, I gotta believe it’s coming Evangeline
And I gotta believe, I gotta believe it’s coming Evangeline
And I gotta believe, I gotta believe it’s coming
