Nothing's Good About Goodbye
It was early in the morning as the sun began to show
I heard a noise that sounded like the closing of a door
I walked to the kitchen found a note that caught my eye
The first words I saw written said it’s over now goodbye
I thought of things that I’d be told and if promises she made
I bought every word she sold and now I guess I’ve paid
It was easy to believe her then but now it’s plan to see
Words don’t mean the same to her as they do to me
Always ain’t forever and a vow no guarantee
Blue is just a color ‘til you’re all alone like me
Someone small can hurt you someone big and strong can cry
No matter how you say it nothing’s good about goodbye
Even if you hear it don’t depend on what you’re told
Remember that old saying all that glitters is not gold
Words paint pretty pictures that are easy on the eye
But look a little different when they prove to be a lie
It’s a lesson I’ve completed and I hope I’ve learned it well
I’ll think before I buy what someone has to sell
Words wrapped in paper tied with a pretty bow
Make it hard to turn and walk away and say no
Always ain’t forever and a vow no guarantee
Blue is just a color ‘til you’re all alone like me
Someone small can hurt you someone big and strong can cry
No matter how you say it nothing’s good about goodbye
Always ain’t forever and a vow no guarantee
Blue is just a color ‘til you’re all alone like me
Someone small can hurt you someone big and strong can cry
No matter how you say it nothing’s good about goodbye
