For No Good Reason
It’s been a long long time ago but I still remember when
The sun rose across the Blue Ridge when nothing else made sense
A misty winter morning the joy of waking up
With nothing more to hold to than the coffee in my cup

The time I hiked cross country with a guitar on my back
I was on my way off the beaten track
The love for that old Martin and Doc Watson in my head
A tune for a pillow and a song to make my bed

Some is simply wanderlust the joy you get from leaving
Some is really finding out what you’re still believing
None is done to run for gain or getting even
Gone again like the wind for no good reason

What would you dare to dream if you knew
You couldn’t lose is it a curse or a blessing to have to much to choose
I never found the answer but it didn’t weigh me down
I just packed up my suitcase and headed out of town

If you’re asking me to stay around I ain’t got the time
Cause the music is still playing if only in my mind
Now the days are getting shorter and the light is getting dim
I’d like to bring them back again but where do I begin

Some is simply wanderlust the joy you get from leaving
Some is really finding out what you’re still believing
None is done to run for gain or getting even
Gone again like the wind for no good reason
Gone again like the wind for no good reason
