On the day of her birth, heaven sent her to me
A bundle of love, to our family
I held her and hugged her, like a gentle spring breeze
When the world and I welcomed, Amanda Marie
The years passed so quickly, in life’s pageantry
The love that she brought, I could write poetry
From newborn to teenage, she’s part of me
Oh, how I love her, Amanda Marie
The world cast a shadow, one terrible day
Innocence lost, in so senseless a way
Too soon and unfair, her soul was set free
That’s when I lost my Amanda Marie
There’s no explanation, no reason why
The nights weigh so heavy, through tear dimmed eyes
Heaven short…one angel, she was taken from me
I can’t wait to be with my Amanda Marie
