Mind to Think
Oh if I had a mind to think I might do some damage
Mix my thoughts in the kitchen sink
And make myself a sandwich
I might hock my ham and cheese
Buy a gun and shoot the breeze
Bring the sun down to its knees
And make another morning
Oh if I had a mind to think might never gamble
Never touch that fine cornet
Or do the Muskrat Ramble
I might just stay here in bed
Have the sense to plan ahead
I see the sky is getting red
And sore like it’s been crying
Oh if I had a mind to think I might take up jogging
Leave behind those chili dogs
Chase books that helped my noggin
Oh I don’t know how I got this old
Or how the winter got so cold
Now the morning’s turning gold
And I should stop my dreaming
