Oskaloosa Shuffle
5. Oskaloosa Shuffle 3:18 (Starts Key of F; ends key of G)

I love the sound of “Oskaloosa.” And I liked the people I met there in
2005 when I visited this town in southern Iowa while researching the
history of the “Missouri Waltz.” When I finished writing and recording
my own “Oskaloosa Shuffle,” I realized that its minor-key bridge brought to mind another tune with Oskaloosa roots and a minor bridge: the “Missouri Waltz.” One of its purported writers, Frederic Knight Logan, lived with his mother in Oskaloosa. The town still proudly claims them as the only successful professional songwriting mother-and-son duo in American music.
