Lacassine Two-Step
1. Lacassine Two-Step 3:31 (Keys of D, B minor)

I met Ellis Vanicor, a wonderful fiddler and bandleader in Sulphur, Louisiana in 2014 when my wife Marty and I rode through on our bicycles. Ellis Vanicor and the Lacassine Playboys played at a magical afternoon dance in a road house/deli called Wayne and Layne’s.
All the local patrons stopped by our table to welcome us. The men asked my permission to dance with Marty. I stood off to one side, videotaping the scene and recording the music. Early the next morning, we pedaled past Ellis’s house.
This tune is dedicated with affection to Ellis Vanicor and his
Lacassine Playboys, and to Suzy Thompson, who had suggested
I look up Ellis’s fiddling brother Milton Vanicor. To my amazement,
chance led us to Ellis’s gig instead.
