Biography

Roger "Jah-D" Guthrie seemed destined to be an entertainer, as a child he was always in school plays and had leading roles. Eventually he started to play the acoustic guitar and the piano at school, but never really polishing the art of those particular instruments. He then joined a group called "King Sounds & the Israelites", as a back ground singer. From that platform he started to learn how to play the Tenor sax and went on his first tour shortly afterwards. He was given some very good pointers by a fellow sax player Courtney Pine, who later went on to play for Miles Davis.... Jah-D went on to play for a string of hit reggae artists, like Maxie Priest, Freddie McGregor, Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks and many more, also a great UK R&B group called "Loose Ends". Jah-D also has memorable moments of when he Jammed live with veteran Harry Bellafonte in Zimbabwe and Bruce Hornseby in the USA.

Roger "Jah-D" Guthrie says he knows he's been blessed and now he's ready to fully share his blessing of muzik with the world.

Jah-D a versatile artist has, with the invaluable contribution of his long time friend, Patrick "I:B" Smith. Co/Written, composed and produced "Stronger" his debut solo project. Featuring his smooth sax, unique style, Caribbean vocals and the awesome vibe of the elusive Wind Tone Generator. "Stronger" titled to reflect Jah-D's depth and maturity, his sweet spirit portrays his passion and talent along with spiritual enlightenment and musical narration through songwriting, poetic flow and message of conviction.

Roger "Jah-D" Guthrie being a deeply spiritual man, views his muzik as a platform for truth and hope. It is his heart's desire for his muzik to touch and bless all who come in contact with it and to foster hope in hearts weary of past and present conditions. Roger "Jah-D" Guthrie has now finished his very first CD and hopes and prays it will soothe many troubled hearts and be a gentle breeze to stormy lives and will fan the flame that's striving for peace and help keeping hope
alive.
