You see my whole family sung in church at one time. They were all very beautiful gospel songs! And the people there just got such a blessing hearing them sing.
When I started singing the first song I did was a song called "Wayfaring Stranger"
originally done by the Oak Ridge Boys.
I remember it so well, cause I could not say mother. I would say Mudder, baby talk I guess the people in church really thought that was cute!
In 1967 I moved to Tucson, AZ. That's where I went to pretty much all my schools.
While I was going to school I was a pretty average student grade wise. I did enroll in music classes. Thats where I really felt the love for all kinds of different types of music and singer's.
My mother when I was about 16 to 17 years old, uses to take me to local nightclubs where I would sing with the local bands etc.
The songs I remember singing were R & B
songs that I really listen to allot growing up as a kid.
The names of them were "The Snake" by
Al Wilson and "It's Too Late To Turn Back Now" by The Cornelius Brothers And Sister Rose.
It was mostly in the summer of 1972 when I was actively singing in nightclubs.
In 1974 I enlisted in the United States Navy for four years (4). I was station in Norfolk,
Virginia during that time. Onboard an Aircraft Carrier named the USS America.
For the entire four years. During that time frame I travel all over the world.
While I was in Norfolk, Va. I sung at nightclubs too. And the songs I sung were
called "Sittin On The Dock Of The Bay" by the late great Otis Redding.
Other songs titles:
"My Pledge Of Love" by the Joe Jeffery Group.
In 1984, I had the honor to sing in Paris, France. At a local nightclub, the song I did was by Richard Marx and called, "Right Here Waiting For You".
The French people really enjoyed an American singing in their nightclub.
In 1985 I returned to the US and was discharge from military service. I wanted to move my family out to California so I could go back into military service and get stationed in San Diego, Ca.
I went and followed that dream while my wife and her family lived in Orange County Westminster CA.
This time I had the honor once again to sing at a citywide concert for the Vietnamese people in a local park call Mile Square Park. The songs I sung were, "Hello"
by L.. Richie and "Careless Whisper" by Wham.
I also sung these songs in local Shopping Malls and etc. In Westminster, CA.
The place where I did allot of my singing was at a place called "Little Saigon" where allot of the Vietnam people did most of their businesses and shopping activities. My second wife was from South Vietnam and had the privledge of getting to know the people there very well. They truly enjoyed my performances.
After I had completed my tour of duty in San Diego, CA, I was transferred to Long Beach, CA and station onboard the USS Princeton.
Were pretty much aware of the world events that took place around 1990 to 1991 when the Persian Gulf conflict started to get pretty bad. The ship I was on at the time was dispatched there for the Desert Shield / Desert Storm operations. Then we were over there an the ship took two underwater mine hit's. The ship was damage alot by theses mine hits. But we were able to make it inport for much needed repairs.
And as soon as we got repaired we headed home to the good old USA.
So in August of 1992, I retired from the US Navy. And started my second career as a full time Singer/Songwriter/Entertainer.
