Angola (feat. Ashlin Parker)
(Spoken)
Right now we’re gonna do a tune that is written, inspired by a Louisiana writer named Ernest Gaines
And, his themes of his novels always end in tragedy for the heroes
And one of the reasons he said this is because in an unjust world, his heroes can’t live
So this is a song all about prison reform, and I think we’ve got way too much talent wasting away in prisons, and I think it’s time for us to reform that. We gonna dedicate this to the late great Nelson Mandela, and this is named for an infamous prison in Louisiana.
We give you “Angola”

That’s Ashlin Parker, y’all. That’s Ahslin Parker, y’all.
You know what? Because this is a live recording
Newport, I think Ashlin Parker can take this **** to the next level
What do y’all think? I need y’all, Newport, I need y’all to help me get Ashlin Parker to take it to the next level. To John Coltrane level, to Herbie Hancock level, to Miles Davis level, to Louis Armstrong level. Newport, can y’all make some noise?
Here we go, here we go
Ashlin Parker. Newport 2015, how y’all feelin’ out there?
