These Old Boots
From the hills of West Virginia to the green fields of Alabam
These old boots have traveled far across this land
I couldn’t begin to tell you all the things that they've done
All The times they've stood their ground and all the times they've run
Now the scars on these old boots match the scars on these old hands
And every road they've led me down has made me who I am
I couldn't count the steps they've made or the miles that they walked
But you sure could hear some stories
If these old boots could talk
They've walked out on women and they've walked out on friends
They've stood toe to toe with many a man
They've seen a lot of good times and they've seen a lot of sin
If I could live life over I do it all again
Now the scars on these old boots match the scars on these old hands
And every road they've led me down has made me who I am
I couldn't count the steps they've made or the miles that they walked
But you sure could hear some stories
If these old boots could talk
They’ve led me to the church house and they've led me to the Lord
Yeah the tops are awful ragged and the soles are getting worn
They've got at least a million miles left to see wherever you find these old boots
That's where you'll find me
Now the scars on these old boots match the scars on these old hands
And every road they've led me down has made me who I am
I couldn't count the steps they've made or the miles that they walked
But you sure could hear some stories
If these old boots could talk
Yeah you sure could hear some stories
If these old boots could talk
