Biography
Freedom Entertainment proudly presents the long-anticipated release of Holly Norman’s debut bluegrass CD, “Appalachian Angel.” With a collection of original songs, alongside some memorable covers, Holly shows her crystal clear vocals accented by some of Nashville’s best session musicians. When she opens her mouth to sing, it’s evident who she is and where she came from – a Southern girl, born and raised in East Tennessee surrounded by mountains and music. This bluegrass beauty proves she knows how to write and deliver a song with an emotion and creativity all her own. With her infectious twang and unique sound, this Appalachian angel is a breath of fresh air with a vast and magnetic appeal.

This album takes you on an emotional journey, from losing love to finding it, darkness to light, happy to sad – it’s life put to music. The covers are brilliant re-makes, and with seven of the songs self-written, Holly carves out her place in Bluegrass Music for years to come. This collection of songs includes a masterful duet with Rhonda Vincent on “Death In The Family,” an incredible re-make of the Eagles hit “Lyin’ Eyes,” a dark love story once recorded by Kenny Rogers called “Buried Treasure,” a self-pinned, infectious song titled “Rearranged,” about self discovery and the journey of life. “Butterfly” is a song Holly wrote as a tribute to her musical idol, Dolly Parton, and on “Where’ve You Been,” Holly delivers a stunning rendition of this classic Kathy Mattea hit.

Holly recorded at Funhouse Studios in Nashville, TN under the direction of producer/manager Ernie Rowell, along with an exceptionally talented team of musicians including dobro player Mike Johnson, fiddle great Aubrey Haynie, banjo/mandolin player Glen Duncan, bass player Kevin Grantt, along with guitarists Danny Parks and Bruce Watkins.
