12. *When This **** Is Over (Lockdown Demo) - I wrote and tracked this myself in April 2020, a couple years before the rest of the songs, but it felt like the beginning of the Hold That Spirit story - so naturally, I had to put it at the end of the record. This song is about hope, and the dream of love and connection keeping the spirit alive in me during some of the darkest and loneliest months of my life. There’s a naivety in this song that my older self smiles at, and there’s something beautiful and pure about this song that makes me remember what it was like during those pandemic months that are easy to push down and not acknowledge. I am grateful for this song because it’s a snapshot of the emotions I was feeling in 2020.
