Falling in love when everything around you seems to be falling apart. “I wanna be in a crowded room, and do a little dance with you” - this line felt so heavy at the time. It was so painful to not gather, and all I wanted to do was dance in a packed concert with someone I love so badly. It was a heartache that hurt daily and inspired this song. Although it haunts me that in hindsight I listen to the lyric, “I want to take a chance with you,” and realize that this was almost foreshadowing the very dramatic and painful demise of this relationship - I can still appreciate this song as a beautiful snapshot of the simplicity of this love when it was beginning.
