A look by vignettes into lives that remind us of how we adjust to the vagaries of life day by day, even hour by hour, and of waiting for change, sometimes without relief. Many of these images grew out of a visit to New York City just before the pandemic, evoking stories both real and imagined; an untold number of completely separate lives intersecting along the streets and plazas, subways, and faces seen in windows.
