I was reckless and wild back when I was a child
Doin things I shouldn’t do
One day I got caught with my innocence lost
Breakin one too many rules

Daddy took me out behind that big ol’ house
Cut a branch from a hickory tree
He whittled it down, then he laid it on the ground
