I dedicated this one to Ronnie Mack. It’s a Rick Nelson tune that was originally a slow shuffle. For 25 years, there was a music showcase in L.A. called Ronnie Mack's Barn Dance every week at the Palomino Club. It had been in a couple of clubs before that; then it was every week at the Pal until the Pal closed. It moved to a few other venues before finally pulling the plug on the 25th anniversary. I was the house guitar player for most of that time, 19 or 20 years of it. Ronnie would always close the show with this song. It do it as a tribute to Ronnie, for all those wonderful years and everything he did for me. Again, it was a joy to have my kid to sing on it. My voice is rough here, but I think I got to the emotional heart of the song.
