Hello Walls. Faron Young! I don't know where I got the idea to do it as a “flat tire” shuffle. It was written as a standard 4/4 Country shuffle. And again, a brilliant song, penned by Willie Nelson. (Come on, man, is there anybody better?) But then that lick came to me, and we cut it that way.

I usually know exactly what I want a track to sound like before I even start. I hear all the parts in my head and it's just a matter of actualizing them. In “Hello Walls”, all that twin guitar stuff in the bridges was completely spontaneous. That happened as I was doing the track. I just heard it in my head and thought, that'd be cool. And played a variation on the second bridge. It was really fun to do. Again, a re-imagining.
