Notes From Harry Orlove

This is a Steve Goodman song that he never recorded on an LP that I'm aware of. There are a couple of live videos of him doing it. I've been singing it for a hundred million years. It's one of the most brilliant songs ever because the last line is a “call back” that ties it all together. I met Steve when I was touring with Vassar Clements. We did a lot of shows with him but I never heard him do it back then. He was a wonderful guy and a great songwriter. When we were doing shows with Steve, Jethro Burns was playing Mandolin with him. And yeah, it was fun. Vassar and Jethro would play together backstage. It was really a blast.
