Tell you a story, that happened long ago,
what really happened, nobody knows.
One fateful night, from the porch out back,
she heard the angry words, then a shotgun crack.

When she reached his side, her lover was gone,
she cried out, and then he passed on.
That evil man, with heart so cold,
killed her love, and he'll reap what he sowed.
