James Dupré's new single, "You're Probably Drunk Right Now," is the gripping story of a love gone wrong and the haunting memories that remain. Produced by Grammy-nominated Matt McClure, the release follows Dupré's breakththrough single, "Another Love Song," which received critical acclaim and reached #41 on Billboard Indicator, and #22 on Music Row; heady accomplishments for a true independent artist.
James Dupré, named one of “10 Country Artists You Need to Know” by Rolling Stone magazine, possesses an exceptionally stellar, pitch perfect, baritone voice and has spent a great deal of time sharing that voice with his fans on social media platforms like YouTube, where today he is edging toward 11 million views. The former EMT-Paramedic is a Bayou Chicot, Louisiana native who currently lives in Nashville.
Dupré was handpicked by Randy and Mary Travis as guest vocalist on The Music of Randy Travis 2019 tour. He performed Randy Travis hits with Travis’s original touring band, and with Mr. Travis appearing at each event. Stops included the legendary Mother Church of Country Music, The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn., among others.
One might think that it all started when millions of viewers saw Dupré get the highly coveted 4-chair turn, earning a spot with Adam Levine’s team on NBC’s The Voice, but this was not his first taste of fame. Before The Voice, Dupré's high visibility on YouTube captured the attention of Ellen DeGeneres, landing him a guest appearance on The Ellen Show. This national exposure was followed by the release of his album, Stoned to Death, produced by Jordan Lehning (Kacey Musgraves, Rodney Crowell). The album rendered the successful Billboard Indicator charting single by the same name, as well as over a million streams to date. James co-wrote the majority of the tracks on the album.
