Americana Band Mobilizes the Troops
“Home For Christmas” will be available as of Monday, November 25th, at a host of on-line retailers including CDBaby, Itunes, Amazon and Rhapsody, and will remain available for download until New Year’s Day. Hansplant says the band would love nothing more than to see the song raise a million dollars for the National Military Family Association.
As for the song, which Hansplant co-wrote with fellow Racer Julie Myers, “It has that quality of longing which you hear so often in the great war era songs of the 1940’s, but we set it to something more like a bossa beat, so it really swings. I get to share the vocal with Julie and our voices blend beautifully. There is really a timeless quality about the tune and we are very proud of it.”
Along with Paul Deck on drums and Nick Terramani on bass, Geoff and Julie indeed have much of which to be proud. While their first album, “Kick Off Your Muddy Boots” gets ready for its January release, “Home For Christmas” promises to spread joy to many families of American armed service personnel this year. All they need is for the troops to turn out in force.
