I was on the road to Hana, when I met the one-eyed cat
I sat down beside him, and we had a little chat
In his quiet wisdom, he spoke of the island life
And in return, I shared with him a small bit of rice
Then I went on my way, back on the road to Hana Bay
The sky was oh so blue, and I saw a rainbow too
On the road to Hana
On the road to Hana
Hana, Hana
On the road to Hana
I visited a black sand beach, and came away with charcoal feet
The water was crisp and cool, flowing from a lava tube
On the road to Hana
On the road to Hana
Hana, Hana
On the road to Hana
Then somewhere along the way, I stopped to watch the surfers play
Brown-skinned boys and girls, paddling on their surfing boards
They float above the waves, and dance through the silver spray
They live their life here in the sea, along the beautiful coast, of Maui
On the road to Hana
On the road to Hana
Hana, Hana
On the road to Hana
On the road to Hana
Hana, Hana, Hana…
