Who is this kid, staring back at me?
Was I really that young, and almost handsome?
A blast from the past, here to remind me
Photographic proof, of a misspent youth

When did I get old?
My story is now half told
I just want to sleep, watch TV and eat
My memory’s gone, I can’t remember the words, to my own songs
But in my mind, I’m still Twenty-nine!

I remember this guy! He had such dreams!
And they were not, to be denied
I want to tell him, some will come true
But most of them, will fall right through

When did I get old?
My story is now half told
I just want to sleep, read my books and eat
My memory’s gone, I can’t remember the words, to my own songs
But in my mind, I’m still Twenty-nine!

Well, that was then, and those days are gone
I just need to accept, and move along
I can’t do, all the things I used to
But I still try-to be that guy!

When did I get old?
My story is now half told
I just want to sleep, play guitar and eat
My memory’s gone, I can’t remember the words, to my own songs
But in my mind, I’m still Twenty-nine!
Yeah, in my mind, I’m still Twenty-nine!
