Steven Gellman - Just Like You, Just Like Me
Just Like You, Just Like Me
Words & Music L. Steven Gellman © 2023 Hidden Poet Music (ASCAP)

We’re not that different, we both go to work
We both pay bills and shop at the local grocery store
And maybe on weekends, we might go to movies
Or get in the car and take a ride to Baltimore

So I don’t know why you think this life I live is strange
When everything I do, you do just about the same
We don’t love differently, I’m just like you, you’re just like me

You label it a lifestyle, like it’s so bizarre
But I don’t think watching TV or doing laundry is odd
You’re life is deeply rooted, in spirit and faith
But you talk about religion, like you own god

So I don’t know why you think this life I live is strange
When everything I do, you do just about the same
We don’t love differently, I’m just like you, you’re just like me

Were not that different, you see, just like you
I’m a good person and I really love my life
Were not so different, we both have our families
And you can have your opinions, but you can’t take away my rights!

So I don’t know why you think this life I live is strange
When everything I do you do just about the same
We don’t love differently, I’m just like you, you’re just like me

We don’t love differently, I’m just like you, you’re just like me
