Gonna open my window and let the springtime in
Gonna step outside and feel the sun on my skin
I’m gonna fight, and I’m gonna win…
It’s time for this Wintering to end!
It’s been a long winter, it’s been a long time
Since I’ve felt, true peace of mind
I’ve wrestled with demons, looking for the light…
During this Wintering time
But what makes me happy, are dogs in my bed
And emerging butterflies, dancing over head
Butter slathered, on a slice of rye bread…
This! Is a life well lived!
This guitar’s been sitting in its corner too long
Gonna pick up that guitar, and write a song
Guitars need love, like a wizard needs a wand
Wintering, come and gone!
But what makes me happy, are dogs in my bed
And writing these songs, off the top of my head
Butter slathered, on sourdough bread…
This! Is a life well lived!
It’s OK, to not be OK, and sometimes, we need to fallow away
To stay inside, and stay warm, to take shelter, from the storm
And one day you’ll wake up and the snow will be gone
With wildflowers, blanketing the lawn
Take a deep breath, and stay strong…
You made it!
But, what makes me happy, are dogs in my bed
And feeling the fog, clear out my head
Sometimes we eat the whole loaf of bread…And that’s OK!
Cause’ this is a life…This is my life...This! Is our lives, well lived
