Coco Montoya is a soaring, impassioned soloist and a mesmerizing singer. Albert Collins was his mentor (he called Coco his “son”) and he coached Coco, already a drummer, as he became a world-class guitarist. Coco spent a decade as one of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, following in the footsteps of Eric Clapton and Peter Green. He’s been leading his own band for more than 25 years now. He’s cut ten albums (five for Alligator) and played thousands of shows, winning an army of loyal fans, and the admiration of his fellow musicians.
