Luther Allison - Soul Fixin’ Man (Live)
Allison & Solberg, Bad Love Music admin. by Eyeball Music, BMI

Luther Allison burst out of Chicago’s West Side in 1969, gaining instant national fame with a sensational performance at the first Ann Arbor Blues Festival. He gigged constantly, delivering hours-long shows and building a devoted fan following. After his debut on Delmark, he recorded the first blues albums for the Motown organization. But Luther’s career waned. Frustrated, he moved to Europe and became a festival headliner there. His European manager Thomas Ruf formed Ruf Records to record Luther, and we released his albums in the U.S. Touring the country relentlessly, Luther rebuilt his American reputation as one of the world’s most exciting bluesmen. In 1995, he delivered a devastating set at the Chicago Blues Festival, where Soul Fixin’ Man was recorded. He had become Alligator’s most popular artist when he was felled by cancer in 1997 at the age of 57.
