James Cotton - Little Car Blues
Broonzy, Universal-MCA Music Publ., BMI
The massive harmonica sound of James Cotton sparked the Muddy Waters band for ten years before he stepped out on his own. Starting in the mid-1960s, Cotton cut a series of hard-edged albums, some for major labels, while building a worldwide audience with his overwhelming, powerhouse harmonica, gruff vocals and sweat-soaked, athletic live performances. He recorded four terrific albums for Alligator. In 1990, he joined his friends Junior Wells, Billy Branch and Carey Bell for the classic Chicago harmonica summit meeting Harp Attack!.
