This song was written about my grandparents, Audrey and Troy Junior Engle. My grandfather was in ill health and could not attend the service, but my uncle Orbin, brought him back a flower. He said "Dad that sure is a lovely flower." My papaw responded "Not as pretty as the one we lost today". I just thought that was one of the most profound statements, and I told Miss Dixie the story. She did the rest, and had most (if not all of it) written, by the next time I came down. This is the first song we ever worked on together, and it's very special for me, since it was written about my family. The Lewis Family recorded this song, also being our first cut as a writing trio.
