She Was An Angel
She said to me “won’t you leave me be,
There’s someone else keepin’ me warm.
He’s got eyes like the burnin’ fire bright,
The likes of which I’ve never seen before.”

As I turned to walk away,
Took one final look behind,
Sure enough she was makin’ a deal,
With the devil in disguise.

Now she’s slippin’, now she’s slidin’
Now she’s fadin’ away…

Lord won’t you take her in your arms,
Before she falls too far below,
Once to me she was an angel,
Now she’s sellin’ off the pieces of her soul.

She said to me “I’ve got places to be,
and people there that’ll make me feel alright.
Our sun is settin’ and I’m lettin’ you know,
this right here, will be our last goodbye.”

Now she’s slippin’, now she’s slidin’
Now she’s fadin’ away…

Lord won’t you take her in your arms,
Before she falls too far below,
Once to me she was an angel,
Now she’s sellin’ off the pieces of her soul.

Now she’s slippin’, now she’s slidin’,
Now she’s fallin’, and I’m tryin’
To forget her, cuz’ I know it’s too late…

Lord won’t you take her in your arms,
Before she falls too far below,
Once to me she was an angel
Once to me she was an angel
Once to me she was an angel
