Tricia Eaves - New Dawn
As our ship sets sail, from dear old Ulster
Taste salt, with every breath
Fighting back our fear, with every heartbeat
Every, wave, we crest.
Duet
We are off to change our history, down the long great, wagon road
As we leave our land and brave the seas, toward destiny’s new home

Thru mountains blue, this new found homeland, struck chords of memories
-Of childhood hills, heath-clad highlands, the shelter of the trees.
Duet
Charmed by blooming valleys, water cold and clear
A welcome balm, for homesick hearts,
Our dreams, we hold so dear

On the wagon road, the mountains ringing,
Old melodies made new
Our fiddle and song that brace our souls
And keep each footstep true
Duet
Songs of dear lost loved ones, forced to stay behind
Of hope, and love, and days gone by
And life we’ve yet to find

Pioneers, Scots Irish timber, with dauntless souls we came
Seeking God and lasting freedom, through hunger, war, and pain
Duet
Like the sycamore we’re standing
Roots so wide and deep we send
Straight and true we’ll surely die
Before we ever bend

As the years rolled on, our kin were scattered
Blue Ridge to desert west
Generations from the glens of Scotland
Still facing every test
Duet
Now we’re names in family bibles
And words of songs passed on
May the peace we sought bless our children now
And our stories not be gone
